Sci-Fi, Victorian, Gothic, Modern Day, Zombies. A huge variety of original murder mystery stories all written by Dying 2 Know's Founder Max Barrett.
Max is the writer, host, and founder of Dying 2 Know. Over his career, Max has experience as a theatre writer, short film director, radio/podcast producer and marketing manager. All throughout this time, Max has worked on writing and producing events for Dying 2 Know, using his creative experience from his career as inspiration for his story writing for Dying 2 Know.
Dying 2 Know was founded in 2018 when Max Barrett, answered the call to approach a local community club to put on a local one time event, using his dynamic experience in theatre and film writing. After focus groups and meetings between Max and the club, a murder mystery event was agreed as the best event to go ahead with. Max took up the challenge.
Max researched the unique opportunities the genre presents and carefully wrote the story 'Space Opera' his first murder mystery story. He played a range of existing, brilliant murder mystery events to learn how to tailor the event to the community club.
Max then curated a format and story bespoke to Dying 2 Know which has been refined and evolved and is still used today. What makes the Dying 2 Know format so special is that it is built around teamwork, different challenges to earn critical information and incredibly unique and challenging murder mystery stories.
To ensure the story was right for the event, Max presented it to his theatre writing group and friends as a focus group for feedback. However, feedback on the event and format were so overwhelmingly positive it quickly became clear this couldn't be a one-off
Max then brought the event to Canterbury and initially partnered with the White Hart to host the first official publicly sold murder mystery events.
The rest is history!
Now, Dying 2 Know partners with Cafe du Soleil in Canterbury, has expanded further around Kent, has done events in London and now corporate murder mystery events.
What a journey it has been. Thanks must go to all those who have believed in and supported Dying 2 Know over the years to make it the brand it has become.
